Electrical power supply in KIE is developed to support all kinds of industry with more than adequate power supply.

Tariff for Power Supply (for Industry)

A) Demand Charge/Energy Charge

Advance Telecommunication International telephone lines are easily connected at US$150 per line. Other telecommunication services provided include diversion and extension of telephone lines within the factory lot. Singapore mobile phone local network is able to reach Batam Island. It is very convenient to communicate between both Singapore and Batam island by using normal standard mobile phone.

Fresh treated water supply and potable water

The quality of water in Batam is good. Potable water is made available from BIDA's supply at Rp 11,000 per cubic meter. KIE could supply industrial water for large consumer at Rp 9,500 per cubic meter.

Round-the-clock Security for common area

KIE is guarded by security officers (SATPAM) for 24 hours. The SATPAM will do their patrol around the industrial estate to maintain maximum security within the estate.

Additional Security Services

In addition to the round-the-clock security, KIE also supplies qualified in-house security officers to factory owners/tenants for their respective needs.

In-house Security Officer Charges

1 SATPAM per 8 hours shift = S$360 per security guard per month and S$480 per security supervisor per month (inclusive of uniform accessories, food, Askes, Astek, training and one unit of handy talkie), subject to yearly increment up to 10% maximum.

Logistic support for mobilising plant and machinery

KIE provides assistance in mobilising the plant and machinery. Service includes arranging transportation, obtain clearances from local authorities. Transportation charges are billed directly by the transportation company.

Administrative services

Services include arranging the company incorporation (excluding legal charges), obtain business visa, government licensing/permit (excluding fees) and clearance for foreigners who want to enter Batam for business purpose.

Shipping/Custom Clearance Service

Assist in arranging approved shipping agent of various flag line in all over the world and Indonesia, with wide range of vessel capacity. The agent also provides customs clearance for cargo incoming and outgoing to/from Batam.

                         
Labour recruitment services

KIE will assist you to recruit labour. Service includes inserting advertisement in local newspapers, screening and shortlisting of suitable candidates for further selection. Advertisement charges are charged directly by the newspaper publisher.

Minimum Wage
Effective from 1 Jan 2008 the minimum wage is Rp 960,000/month.

Maintenance and upkeep of common property

The industrial estate is managed and maintained by well-qualified maintenance staff to ensure that the common property - roads, drains, street lights, etc are well taken care.

Service & Maintenance charges: US$0.044 per square meter land area/month.
